Clambake & Auction Raises $40,000 for Women’s
Healthcare
The Development Office of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital
reports that they raised approximately $40,000 at their
23rd Annual Clambake & Auction held Saturday, July
19 under the giant tent on the BMH grounds.
The fundraising focus this year was upgrading breast
care services, including the goal of purchasing two
digital mammography units to aid in the early detection
and treatment of breast cancer. Proceeds from the Clambake
& Auction, along with Annual Fund charitable gifts,
have gone a long way toward reaching this goal.
More than 470 community members attended the event,
with close to 200 area businesses providing sponsorships.
Major sponsors this year included: Boston Private Value
Investors, Inc.; C & S Wholesale Grocers, Inc.;
H.P. Cummings Construction Co.; Entergy Nuclear-Vermont
Yankee; and The Richards Group.
Hospital officials wish to acknowledge the efforts
of event co-chairs, Tammy Richards and Gina Pattison,
as well as Arne Hammarlund and Heidi Kendrick for chairing
the auction and sponsorship committees.
