PATIENTS - PLEASE NOTE:
You can now get your lab work - blood drawn or specimen dropped off - almost immediately inside the convenient covered entrance to the new BMH Outpatient Building, Mondays through Fridays, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.* (This entry is around the back side of the building, where there is ample parking on both sides of the covered entrance.) Simply come in the door and on the right you will see a large reception area where there are Patient Registration offices for all services in the Outpatient Building including the Lab.
* If you need lab services on Saturday, you still have to report through the main lobby of the hospital to register, and proceed to the lab one floor down. Saturday lab hours are 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
Once you are registered for the lab during weekdays, you'll take your paperwork to the lab window toward the far side of the reception area in the new Outpatient Building. You'll either be taken in for your test, or the clerk will suggest that take a seat to wait for your turn.
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) Medical Laboratory is a full service laboratory that provides accurate and timely laboratory, diagnostic, therapeutic services. We not only service the hospital but also offer laboratory services to nursing homes, physician offices, clinics, schools, and other facilities.
Our mission is to treat patients and colleagues with respect, care and compassion. We will safeguard all patient information as confidential and will perform all testing in a reliable, accurate and timely manner.
BMH laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and is registered by CLIA 88 (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988).
We believe that a strong quality assurance program is vital and having qualified staff is a crucial element. We are staffed with board-certified pathologists, medical technologists, and medical laboratory technicians.
Personnel are required to participate in on-going education and assessment of competency.
HOURS OF OPERATION / TELEPHONE NUMBERS
The laboratory is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, we are fully staffed for outpatients and routine testing as noted above.
Appointments are not necessary when coming in for laboratory testing during routine hours. However, please remember to stop by Patient Registration prior to reporting for your test.
